Very sad to find out one of the victims on Nice was from San Diego:  http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Berkeley-Student-Missing-After-Nice-Attack-Confirmed-Dead-387184552.html
Great game tonight in 10 innings. As always when the other team scores at the top of an inning in overtime you think it is over.  But they came back and then amazingly, with a runner in third, got a free base because the pitcher balked. Video of the balk: http://m.padres.mlb.com/news/article/190071118/padres-win-in-10th-on-walk-off-balk-vs-giants/
Video of Cleveland National Forest (East San Diego County) on a beautiful day in Summer, 2016.

Had dinner at Cotijas in Point Loma, San Diego. This is a good combo: 3 rolled tacos, a fish taco and a bean and cheese burrito. I eat the tacos and if I am still hungry I eat half of the burrito and save the rest for later. Cotijas is next to Stumps and has a nice, local feel. Everyone knows this place. Their web site in Point Loma (San Diego) Their yelp Famous fish taco! Address is: 3720 Voltaire St San Diego , CA 92107

Got a good response from my Trader Joes story about the ribeye steak. Today I went to San Diego's best deli DZ Akins. Wanted some meat and cheese, but not too much and some lettuce so I had a huge Chef Salad with 1000 Island dressing. $15 but as always DZ Akins is very high quality and consistent so even though you always feel like you paid a pretty penny for the meal, you also always enjoy the meal.  Perhaps never have I had a disappointing meal there. Here is someone else's pic of the Chef Salad and you can see how much meal and cheese is in there. Also comes with bagel and cream cheese or bread with butter, of your choice. I love the sandwiches there as well.  My favorite is the Tuna Melt.  Noticed that is now up to 12.95.  I remember when it was 9.95. Here is a pdf link to the entire menu (prices were about $1 per item more even than this menu): https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&...
Got a baseball signed by the 1984 San Diego Padres on Ebay. One of the things I have wanted for a long time growing up here.  All the 4's are on there: Gwynn, Gossage, Garvey, Graig and I think every player.

Anyone ever been to the Salton Sea or the  Algodones sand dunes  east of San Diego? People should read the fascinating history of how the Sea was made by a flood and the sand dunes were unable to be crossed until Ed Fletcher built a wooden road so people could drive to Phoenix for the first time. Here are some links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algodones_Dunes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salton_Sea Also Google them and use the Google satelitte map to look down on them. Here is a pic of the waterways that created the Salton Sea:
So glad it finally cooled down. Can finally turn off the fan and hear sounds of the city.
So glad they caught that guy who was hurting homeless people in San Diego. All people deserve respect and safety, esp in the most beautiful city in the world.
